Setting your resolutions and goals for 2021 is half the battle.

Setting your resolutions and goals for 2021 is half the battle. Now you need to make sure you work towards them all year! We are sharing 5 effective ways to make sure you stick to your goals!

➡️Define your goals and commit to them at all costs! When defining your goals, it’s important to be as specific as possible. For example: Acquire two new clients every month. It’s equally as important to set tangible and realistic goals. This will increase your chances of achieving them throughout the year. Recognize and eliminate any distractions that are keeping you from what you want.

➡️Share your goals with a friend or loved one! Studies have shown that when you share your goals with others, you are twice as likely to achieve them than if you keep the goals to yourself. Discussing what your goals are will also give you a sense of motivation and accountability to follow through with your plans.

➡️Set aside time every week to plan and brainstorm what you need to accomplish towards your goal. They say, “failing to plan is planning to fail” and that is especially true when working towards your goals. Setting aside at least an hour per week to dedicate time to your strategy is the key to staying on track.

➡️ Find ways to keep you motivated throughout the year: As the months start to pass, our fire for achieving our goals begins to dwindle. Try different things to keep you on track, such as leaving yourself inspirational messages or writing a note to yourself reminding yourself, during unmotivated times, why you are trying to achieve what you have set out for yourself.

➡️Keep moving forward even after facing setbacks: It’s important to keep working towards your goals even after things don’t go your way. If things are not going as planned, be open and flexible to trying different methods and developing a new plan. Understand that facing challenges is part of the process and does not necessarily mean that you are failing.

Did you know? According to one study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology, those who set New Year’s resolutions are 10 times more likely to change their behavior than people who do not make these yearly goals.

Let us face it, sticking to your goals is a long-term commitment that can be rough at times. It is important to plan and remain focused, but it is also important to not be so hard on yourself and to relax. Ultimately, life is about the journey, not the destination. We must learn to enjoy the ride.
